New Seller Standards Improving Your Standards Becoming a Top-Rated Seller
To keep eBay a great place to shop, eBay asks that sellers consistently meet or exceed buyers' expectations by providing excellent service.
Starting in April 2010, we want sellers to raise their standards to increase buyer satisfaction.

Detailed Seller Rating Standards

A key indication sellers may be falling short of buyers' expectations is when they receive 1s and 2s on any of their DSRs. As part of the new minimum standards, we are reducing the acceptable percentage of low DSRs a seller can have.

Here are the differences between the old and new standards for eBay.com (US site only):
To accurately measure your performance, we only count 1s and 2s if they come from 2 or more buyers.
If you have more than 400 transactions, 3 or more buyers must leave low DSRs before they are counted.
Selling Practices Policy

Currently, Top-rated Sellers are already following the Selling Practices Policy.
To standardize the buyer experience across eBay, from April, we are asking that all sellers follow the policy as well.

Fulfilling the Minimum Standards

When a seller cannot meet eBay's DSRs and policy standards, it is likely he or she is not providing the level of service buyers expect. Until the seller improves, their search standing will be lowered and limits may be placed on their selling activities.
You can track your performance from the Seller Performance page in the Seller Dashboard.

Here's how:
Go to the Seller Dashboard.
From the "Summary" box, click "Performance".

Select the country site (whether US, UK or Germany) for which you'd like to review your performance.

From the, "Performance criteria for" dropdown, select "Above standard" to compare your current standing against current requirements.

Note: The new minimum seller standards to list on eBay will only be reflected in the Seller Dashboard from April 2010. The new minimum seller standards to be introduced in April for US and UK are 1%, 2%, 2%, 2% and DE are 1.2%, 2.4%, 2.4%, 2.4% for item as described, communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges respectively.
